NFL Week 15 Predictions: 3 Underdogs Who Will Put Up a Fight

Ryan RudnanskyDec 18, 2011

You know those underdogs; they can surprise people from time to time.

In Week 15 of the NFL season, there are three underdogs in particular who will be gnawing at their opponents' nerves, keeping them on edge up until the end of the game.

Here are three underdogs who will put up a fight in Week 15.

3. Oakland Raiders (7-6)

The Raiders haven't exactly been partying the last couple of weeks.

After losing to the Miami Dolphins, the Raiders were destroyed by the Green Bay Packers in Week 14, 46-16.

But they are a better team than they've shown the last two weeks, and they face the Detroit Lions in Week 15, who had lost five of their last seven games before a narrow victory over the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14.

The Lions aren't as strong as they were early in the season, and the Raiders still have a rushing attack that can do some damage.

2. Miami Dolphins (4-9)

Quarterback Matt Moore has had a bit of a resurgence this season, and the Dolphins defense is giving up 18.9 points per game, fifth-best in the NFL.

On top of that, running back Reggie Bush has been better than he has his entire career.

The Dolphins are technically underdogs against the Buffalo Bills in Week 15, but the Bills haven't exactly been world-beaters.

The Bills defense has been pretty bad the whole season, and the once-electric offense has gone stale.

Even in Buffalo, I don't see this working out well for the Bills.

1. Denver Broncos (8-5)

Some people are actually thinking the Broncos will beat the New England Patriots in Week 15.

While I don't think that will be the case, there's no mistaking that the phenomenon that is Tim Tebow has been hard to figure out for opposing defenses, particularly in the fourth quarter.

Despite being 10-3 this season, the Patriots haven't been the same dominant team as before. They beat the Colts and Redskins by just a touchdown apiece, and the defense is giving up the most passing yards per game in the NFL.

The Patriots will win this one, but the Broncos will be surely fighting until the end.
