EPL: The 5 Worst Kits in the English Premier League This Season

Kyle DegabDec 26, 2011

Although it is now December, I find that I still cannot cope with some of the kits that are fielded weekly in the EPL by both small and big clubs.  From the odd, plain and bizarre to downright ugly, I count down what I deem the top-five worst EPL kits worn by teams this season.

Arsenal's Blue and Black Away Kit

1 of 6

The Arsenal blue and black away kit earns some points for originality and uniqueness; however, still finds itself in position five on this list.  Although the colors are aesthetically appeasing, they are not Arsenal's colors.  For a club of its stature, the Gunners are recognized for the red and white.  Many teams venture with finding a kit that is very different from their home colors; however, Arsenal still holds a maroon and yellow third kit.

Having three completely different colored kits seems like merely a clever attempt at increasing jersey sales.  Although this kit is not completely terrible, it is certainly not among the best we have seen from Arsenal.

Everton's Camo Keeper Kit

2 of 6

Although this is not an outfield kit, the Everton keeper camouflage kit still was awful enough to grace this short list.  This kit is oddly bizarre, unless employed to pay tribute to the British troops, or simply to hide Howard from the transfer market.  This jersey is an eyesore and comes in at No. 4 on this list.

Liverpool's White and Powder Blue Third Kit

3 of 6

Everton's Liverpool rivals find themselves just inches ahead of Howard's camouflage.  Although Liverpool typically has very plain but appealing kits, these third kits are absolutely horrendous.  The combination of colors and design are an eyesore and frankly very flamboyant.  Like Arsenal, these kits do not say Liverpool at all.

Hopefully nobody wasted money on this experiment, and it can be tucked away and forgotten about.  These kits are potentially the worst in my opinion; however, because they are third jerseys, they fell to third on the list.

Bolton's Home Kit

4 of 6

Bolton, Bolton, Bolton—certainly this is the reason why Reebok is seldom seen.  While all of Bolton's kits are pretty terrible, these Bolton home kits do not even come close to resembling Premier League kits and likely wouldn't be if it were not for the Barclay's patch on the sleeve.

These kits are somehow both plain and busy.  The odd design beginning on the chest and ending on the shoulder is enough to make you gag.  This training kit look-alike ranks as the second worst jersey in the EPL.

Wolverhampton Home Kit

5 of 6

Two words can describe these Wolverhampton kits perfectly: "Npower Championship."  These kits are dreadfully dull and not of this league.  Not only are they very plain, but the color itself is very bland.  These kits are definitely the least appealing in all of the EPL this season.

Dishonorable Mentions

Dishonorable mentions go to:

Aston Villa: checkerboard pattern
