WWE TLC 2011: Is Triple vs. Kevin Nash the Worst-Built Grudge Match Ever?

Giulio RomanoDec 16, 2011

All we need is a little TLC.

Just two days more for us to wait and we can finally watch the very last Pay Per View event of the year -- afterwards it's onto the road to WrestleMania!

This takes us to Triple H.

The C.O.O. of the company has been involved in an angle, pitting him against former Kliq best friend Kevin Nash.

This had begun over the summer as Nash returned and attacked CM Punk right after his title match at SummerSlam. What could have been a great story and feud was tossed aside so that Big Sexy could get medically cleared up and finish his shoot for his upcoming movie role in Magic Mike.

Next we have Hunter getting in the mix and for some reason the focus shifted from Nash-Punk to Nash HHH which seemed quite confusing for this viewer. Wouldn't a program between the first two be more interesting?

The whole angle was scrapped and CM Punk went on to regain his coveted WWE championship. A much better outcome anyway.

This left us wondering what plan the company has for a returning Kevin Nash. He can help elevate any up-and-coming Superstar if put in the right place, but that was not to be. Instead we have to watch as both former friends unload their personal problems live on television.

Because they take up so much time we can't even have a decent Divas match. Very sad!

Next came the sledgehammer across the side of the head. A gift from Nash to HHH putting the 13-time World Champion out of commission for months. This seemed to have sealed the fate of this whole mess because now we just simply stopped caring.

It must be the worst-ever build to a program the WWE Universe has witnessed in the last 10 years!

Not only did Triple H return this past week but he totally dismissed his upcoming match at TLC to address another issue: The Streak and its master, The Undertaker.

So The Game wants another crack at it, does he? How about first paying attention to the menace you seem to have problems with, Kevin Nash? In some ways, this could very well be the least successful event of the year and with such amazing build-up (enter sarcasm) I can understand why.

Forget your Shawn Michaels or X-Pac interference...there is no point in dragging this mess any further.

Another reason why this isn't working is the stipulation of the match: a Sledgehammer Ladder match. Really?

Neither of them look good in this thing. It's more awkward than anything else. Don't get me wrong, Triple H had great ladder matches in his time, but this is far from it. A Chairs match would have made more sense and you can have all the sledgehammers you want in there.

It will be a big mess but at least it shouldn't be more than 10 minutes. Maybe Brodus Clay can attack them and they reconcile right in time for the holiday season. A united Kliq is far more powerful than a divided one and so the course of history can continue perfectly until if indeed Hunter IS to face The Phenom at the Show of Shows.

Listen to my words when I write this: Nobody cares about this match. Nobody. Not even the players themselves. I don't know how many times I've read or heard about how much they don't feel like doing this. Many, many times.

Don't feel bad, guys, we don't care either. Just make it quick. Bring me some Beth Phoenix action...now!
