NBA Free Agents 2011: Best Remaining Players in Shallow Market

Matt ShetlerDec 16, 2011

This season's class of free agents was a thin one to begin with. With most of the top names already off the market, the available crop thinned out in a hurry.

For teams still needing immediate help or depth, there isn't a whole lot left over to choose from.

Here's a look at the best available free agents remaining in what otherwise is a shallow market.

Samuel Dalembert

1 of 10

While a few of the big men that were on the market cashed in on big contracts, Dalembert seemingly got passed over.

His options are limited and has little chance of cashing in on a big deal, but the Houston Rockets remain interested as they desperately need an effective big man.

Rodney Stuckey

2 of 10

Stuckey was offered a five-year deal believed to be worth $45 million from the Detroit Pistons, but the restricted free agent balked at that offer.

It's very unlikely that a team will be able to come close to trumping that offer so it could be a while before Stuckey is in uniform.

Arron Afflalo

3 of 10

Afflalo was coveted by several teams looking to upgrade at the 2-guard position early on, but the general feeling is that Denver would match any offer.

As it looks now, the Nuggets seem close to re-signing him.

Kris Humphries

4 of 10

Needless to say it's been an interesting offseason for Humphries, but it's hard to imagine the market being this slow for him.

Usually guys that averaged a double-double during a contract year would generate some interest on the market, but so far the Nets are the only team that seems interested in the power forward.

Andrei Kirilenko

5 of 10

A return to Utah is out for Kirilenko after they signed Josh Howard, but he won't be without a home for long.

Both New Jersey and Sacramento are hot after him. Both have cap room as well since he could command as much as $9 million per season.

Nick Young

6 of 10

The restricted free-agent Young wants a big deal, but it's unlikely he gets it. There just isn't that much money available around the league at the moment.

He's negotiating with the Wizards but the two sides seem far apart still.

Michael Redd

7 of 10

Redd was once viewed as a franchise-type player, but chronic knee injuries have derailed what was once a promising career.

The guy can still shoot though and teams that are in need of some bench scoring could find him interesting.

Teams like the Knicks and Pacers have shown interest so far.

Reggie Evans

8 of 10

If healthy, Evans is one of the better rebounders in the league and is a commodity that several teams could use.

The Celtics reached out to him early on, but Marc Spears tweets that teams such as the Clippers and Blazers could be involved as well.

DeShawn Stevenson

9 of 10

Stevenson's perimeter defense was a big part of of the Dallas Mavericks capturing the NBA Championship, yet as of now there isn't much of a market.

Dallas seemed interested at first but they may have cooled on him.

Willie Green

10 of 10

Green is a decent bench guard that could help a few teams, but now that the Chris Paul saga is over in New Orleans, they will likely make an attempt to re-sign him.
