NFL Picks Week 15: 3 Underdogs Who Will Win

James TateDec 15, 2011

One of the things that makes each Sunday in the NFL so fun is the fact that anyone can win on any given Sunday.

This week there are three teams that are listed as slight underdogs but have a very good chance at winning.

Two of the teams have an edge that does not show up on paper.  Their edge comes from the fact that they are fighting for a playoff spot.

Click through to see three underdogs that will pull out a victory in week 15.

The Seattle Seahawks

1 of 3

The Seahawks, who are 3 1/2 point underdogs, have been playing really well lately, and they could not be catching the Bears at a better time.  Not only is Chicago playing without Jay Cutler and Matt Forte, but they are also dealing with the distraction of Sam Hurd's arrest for selling drugs across America.

Seattle's defense has only given up more than 20 points once in the last six weeks.  There is no way they are giving up more than 14 in this game.  They will also force a couple of turnovers that will give Marshawn Lynch and company a short field.

This one will be tight, but the Seahawks will win it in the fourth quarter.

The New York Jets

2 of 3

The Jets are 1 1/2 point underdogs in Philadelphia on Sunday.  The one clear advantage the Eagles would appear to have in this game is that the Jets have not been very good against the run this year.  That was true early in the season, but they have gotten better each week.

There is also the fact that the Jets are in a fight for the last AFC Wild Card spot.  They cannot afford to lose another game.

Then there is the Eagles.  They are playing for nothing.

Look for the Jets to win this one by about 10 points.

The Pittsburgh Steelers

3 of 3

The 49ers have stumbled a little bit in the last month.  They have lost two of their last three.  There is no shame in losing to the Ravens, but it was a bit of a shock that they lost to the Cardinals last week.  A team that is as good as they are should not lose to anyone in that division.

The Steelers, on the other hand, have been playing really well.  They have won eight of their last nine.  They look to be putting it all together at exactly the right time.

Pittsburgh is a 2 1/2 point underdog on the road in this one.  The game will be tight, but they will win it on a kick in the fourth quarter.
