WWE News: Original Plans for Kane's WWE Return Revealed
The Big Red Monster is back.
On this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, a newly-masked Kane returned to the WWE, interrupting the main event match between Mark Henry and John Cena and laying out the latter with a huge chokeslam.
It looks like a program between Kane and Cena is now on the horizon, but that wasn’t the original plan for Kane’s return.

"Before this week’s RAW, the talk was that Kane would return in January to pick back up on the feud with World Heavyweight Champion Mark Henry.

Anyone else as thankful as I am that another Kane vs. Henry feud didn’t go down?
For starters, I’m tired of the big man vs. big man feuds. As much as WWE officials like to think they’re entertaining, they’re usually pretty terrible. The feuds themselves may not be all that bad, but the in-ring action—as evidenced by Henry and Big Show’s two pay-per-view matches—is generally awful.
The main reason why I’m glad that the WWE decided not to go with Kane vs. Henry again, however, is that it would have made Kane’s return a lot more predictable and a lot less exciting.
Had the WWE stuck with plans to bring Kane back to Smackdown to reignite his rivalry with Henry, who knows what we would have got out of his return?
Kane may not have come back with the mask on, he more than likely would have come back as a boring baby face again and he definitely wouldn’t have attacked Cena.
Obviously, that would have been a total buzzkill. After all those “Kane Resurrected” videos, to see him come back to the same role he was in before would have been disappointing.
The creative team definitely wised up and made the right decision to bring Kane back as what I assume is a monster heel instead of a generic baby face.
