Week 15 Start Em Sit Em: Reggie Bush and Others to Start

Andrea HangstDec 15, 2011

The fantasy football playoffs are upon us, and that means an even greater level of stress than usual when it comes to figuring out who to start and who to sit.

However, if you examine the matchups well and evaluate who you have on your roster, you can easily make the right decisions that will lead you to victory.

If you need help making those decisions, however, then check out these recommendations for four players who should have high-scoring fantasy days in Week 15.

RB Reggie Bush, Miami Dolphins (at Buffalo Bills)

1 of 4

Miami Dolphins running back Reggie Bush got off to a very slow start this season as the coaches struggled to find ways to fit him into their offense.

However, once he hit his stride, he went from fantasy pariah to a waiver-wire must add practically overnight. Finally hitting the 100 yard mark in Week 8 against the New York Giants, he's since had three more days in which he rushed and received for a combined 100 yards or more.

This season, Bush has 169 carries for 770 yards and five touchdowns and has caught 40 passes for 264 yards and another score. He's averaging a combined 80 yards per game and is PPR gold, catching four to five passes per game.

This week, the Dolphins face the Buffalo Bills and their 28th-ranked defense that's giving up over 360 yards per game. That bodes especially well for Bush, who is not just his team's primary running back, but a major threat in the passing game as well. He's a must-start this week, and he should have another 100-yard game.

RB Shonn Greene, New York Jets (at Philadelphia Eagles)

2 of 4

Like Reggie Bush, New York Jets running back Shonn Greene had a slow start to his season but has started to heat up in recent weeks. Now that he's got the Philadelphia Eagles and their weak run defense up next, he should continue that hot streak this Sunday.

In the past two weeks, Greene has put up a total of 301 yards and four scores. On the year, he has rushed 207 times for 868 yards and six scores, and he's caught 26 passes for 191 yards.

The Eagles defense is giving up 115 yards per game on the ground on average, and with the Jets offense relying heavily on the run game as the playoffs approach, Greene is primed to provide major points for your fantasy team.

WR Demaryius Thomas, Denver Broncos (vs. New England Patriots)

3 of 4

While the Denver Broncos don't possess the most reliable passing offense right now, thanks to the inaccurate arm of quarterback Tim Tebow, when Tebow does throw a meaningful completion, it's likely been caught by wide receiver Demaryius Thomas.

In Thomas' fantasy favor this week is the fact that he'll be up against the New England Patriots and their league-worst pass defense that's giving up an average of 308.7 passing yards per game.

Though Tebow won't likely throw for that many yards, he should have ample opportunity to make completions in a way he hasn't in the previous weeks. With Thomas his primary target, that means the receiver has a good chance to put up solid numbers for your fantasy team this week.

This season, Thomas has caught 18 passes for 325 yards and has four touchdowns. He had 78 receiving yards in Week 14 and 144 in Week 13, boding well for his chances to have 100 or more yards and a score this Sunday.

WR Julio Jones, Atlanta Falcons (vs. Jacksonville Jaguars)

4 of 4

With the Jacksonville Jaguars secondary struggling to stop the pass, thanks to injuries to a number of starters, the Atlanta Falcons' Julio Jones is a must-start this week.

Jones has missed a number of games this year with a hamstring injury, and he's been limited this week with back pain, but he's going to play on Thursday night and should have a pretty big day.

On the year, Jones has caught 37 passes for 670 yards and four touchdowns. Last week against the Carolina Panthers, he caught three passes for 104 yards and two scores. Expect similar results against the Jaguars on Thursday.
