WWE TLC 2011: 5 Rising Stars Who Will Shine
Having a great match on a pay-per-view can launch a professional wrestler's career into that next level. Just take a look at what stealing the show at recent PPVs has done for the careers of Dolph Ziggler, Cody Rhodes and Wade Barrett.
In previous years, a great ladder match helped propel the careers of such superstars like Edge, Christian and Matt and Jeff Hardy.
At this year's "Tables, Ladders and Chairs" PPV, these five rising stars will go out and deliver a great performance. They will build on an already surging stock that will see their momentum carry them into the start of 2012.
Zack Ryder
1 of 5Zack Ryder has been on a massive wave of success for the better part of the last six months. He has his very successful YouTube show—"Z True Long Island Story"—and a lot of fans joining in the Ryder Revolution.
He finally has his shot at Dolph Ziggler and the United States Championship at TLC. With a win or a loss, Ryder will come out of this PPV with as much momentum as he had heading in.
At TLC, we will see Ryder put on a terrific match, with a lot deep story of a wrestler getting his shot at a major singles title.
Wade Barrett
2 of 5Wade Barrett has seen his stock rise as one of the main wrestlers on SmackDown. He has worked in a great program with former World Heavyweight Champion, Randy Orton that has these two in a Table Match at TLC.
The program with Orton has already helped Barrett find his way back into the top of the card on SmackDown. After Barrett's match with Orton at TLC, he may find his way back into the World Heavyweight Title scene against Big Show or Mark Henry.
Cody Rhodes
3 of 5Ever since Cody Rhodes changed the look of the Intercontinental Title back to the way it looked in the '90s, he has been on a huge surge. He has gotten into a great program with the five-time WCW World Heavyweight champion Booker T.
With a win over Booker at TLC, Rhodes will be on an amazing wave of momentum heading into the next PPV, the Royal Rumble.
He can use his current rise to an upset victory at the Rumble, and earning a shot at the WWE or World Heavyweight Title at WrestleMania XXVIII.
The Miz
4 of 5Even if the Miz was in the main event of WrestleMania XXVII and retained his WWE Title over John Cena, he still is rising star since he hasn't seen himself in a program with the WWE Champion.
Against CM Punk at TLC, the Miz has a shot at winning back the WWE Title and regaining the top spot of the WWE.
However, a loss but a great performance against Punk and Alberto Del Rio should keep Miz in that championship scene.
Dolph Ziggler
5 of 5Over the last two months, Dolph Ziggler has been one of the best wrestlers in the WWE. He has gone out and stolen the show in every match that he is booked in.
While stealing the show is one thing, Ziggler has wrestled not only once, but twice in the last two PPVs: Vengeance and Survivor Series.
Ziggler has been proving to people that not only is he a great worker in the ring, but he can handle himself by cutting a great promo.
Ziggler could lose to Ryder at TLC and still see his stock surge into the main event scene on Raw. Or, he could continue to hold onto his US Title, and carry his championship match winning streak into the Royal Rumble and beyond.
