NBA Free Agents 2011: Jamal Crawford and Top Remaining Unrestricted FAs

Tim DanielsDec 15, 2011

Now that the offseason's biggest names have been signed to new contracts, it's time to focus on the remaining free agents to see which available players could still have an impact on the upcoming NBA season.

1. Jamal Crawford

Crawford is the best pure scorer remaining on the open market. Even though he averaged just 14 points last season, he topped the 17 PPG mark in the previous eight campaigns. That makes him an intriguing options for numerous teams in search of instant offense.

He's been linked to the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers in recent weeks, but both of those negotiations have seemingly fizzled out. Since he's now got a little more leverage with other free agents coming off the table, he'll probably wait out to see if any new teams come calling before signing a deal.

Prediction: Portland Trail Blazers

2. Kris Humphries

Off-court dramatics aside, Humphries made major strides last season. He averaged a double-double for the first time in his career and raised his shooting percent nearly 10 percent. At just 26 years old, development can be expected to continue for a few more seasons.

Whether it be due to Humphries' problems with Kim Kardashian or just a flooded free agent market after the lockout, interest in the power forward has been limited. Sticking with the Nets before their big move to Brooklyn would seem like his best career move right now.

Prediction: New Jersey Nets

3. Samuel Dalembert

After Tyson Chandler illustrated how important a defensive center can be, it's surprising that Dalembert hasn't garnered more hype. He's a virtual lock for eight points, eight rebounds and about two blocks. At the very least that's a solid depth piece to add.

Last season's NBA Finals counterparts, the Miami Heat and Dallas Mavericks, would both seem like good fits for the veteran. That said, the Rockets have emerged as the favorite because of a big need in the middle and enough cap space to make it happen.

Prediction: Houston Rockets
