Bernie Fine Scandal: 4th Alleged Victim Revealed, Story Continues to Confuse

In a new development of the Bernie Fine scandal, a fourth alleged victim has gone public and claimed the former Syracuse basketball assistant molested him.

According to The Syracuse Post-Standard, 56-year-old Floyd VanHooser has become the fourth man to allege that Bernie Fine had sexually abused and molested him during his childhood. 

Making this development all the more complicated: VanHooser is currently serving a sentence of 16 years to life for a number of burglaries in the Central New York area. 

The details are graphic, as VanHooser alleges that Fine took VanHooser in while he was an orphan and would consistently ensure that the troubled young man always had work.

VanHooser says that Fine forced him to masturbate and perform oral sex with Fine. VanHooser spoke of three specific incidents in 1998, 2001 and this past summer in which Fine paid for the sexual actions. 

Onondaga County DA William Fitzpatrick has publicly denounced the accusations, saying that "there is no Victim No. 4."

Syracuse police received a tip from a social worker that VanHooser may have information regarding this investigation and a former girlfriend also said that VanHooser would spend most of his time as a free man with Fine.

The kicker in all this: VanHooser was on a list submitted by Bobby Davis, the first to accuse Fine of molesting children, that he gave to Syracuse Post Standard back in 2002. Court records show that VanHooser was indeed living with Fine for most of his childhood.

This makes four victims currently accusing Fine of molestation. Zach Tomaselli is also in a prison in Maine for violating parole while Davis and his stepbrother Mike Lang are seeking legal action against Jim Boeheim and Syracuse University.
