Could Giving Up Playboy Lifestyle Finally Lead to Playoff Success for Tony Romo?

Tony Romo has enjoyed the perks of being the franchise quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, from dating Jessica Simpson to Carrie Underwood until finally settling down this past NFL offseason with former Miss Missouri Candice Crawford.

Romo critics once cited his playboy personality as one of the reasons Romo choked in the playoffs and part of the reason December has been a bad month for the Cowboys since he became the starting quarterback.

Dallas has once again limped through November, losing two heartbreakers to the lowly Arizona Cardinals and division rival New York Giants at Cowboys Stadium. Romo may be receiving some blame for the past two weeks of blown games, but it isn't warranted.

The Eastern Illinois alum drove his team down the field against the Miami Dolphins late in the fourth quarter to win on Thanksgiving Day and he's continued to play well into this month, throwing five touchdowns in the past two games and no turnovers.

The past two games have been the best statistical starts to the month of December Romo has had in his career and he has given his team every chance to win both football games. No longer do Cowboy fans have watch their franchise quarterback be distracted in the stands by Simpson and her custom Romo jersey or hear the tabloids discuss how badly their QB ended things with Underwood and perhaps the lack of off the field issues has helped the former undrafted free agent.

Everyone likes to talk about "Romo-vember" and how well he plays in the second to last month of the calendar year, but what nobody is talking about this season is that the hot streak from the previous month hasn't gone away.

Romo is still putting up great numbers and if not for a dropped Miles Austin pass late in the fourth quarter, the media would be noticing the continued hot streak and calling the Cowboys a Super Bowl contender. The newly married quarterback is focused and if Dallas picks themselves off the mat and makes the playoffs, No. 9 is going to be a big reason why they were able to do so and might just end his playoff woes in just a few short months.
