Jaguars vs. Falcons: Thursday Night Football Chooses Another Horrible Matchup

The NFL Network did a terrible job picking their eight-game, regular season schedule in 2011 and have shown, with few exceptions, nothing but terrible football games between bad teams on Thursday night.

Tonight, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons are facing off, a lopsided contest that no one really cares about except fantasy football players who haven’t been eliminated and degenerate gamblers that are hoping that Jacksonville (+12, not a bad bet) can get a cover.

This isn’t even the worst matchup left on the schedule to close out the year for Thursday night football.

Look at these last two extremely boring games being played in weeks that should be filled with intrigue.

Dallas Cowboys at Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Good job NFL, you managed to pick two of the most disappointing teams in the league this season and feature them on primetime in Week 16.

Anyone could have told you the Buccaneers had no chance of being a contender and highly overachieved last year.

The Cowboys are always overrated and can’t seem to get back into the playoffs with Tony Romo under center and Jerry Jones running the squad like a maniac these days.

Dallas is great for ratings, but when it comes to the actual football they display on the field, the Boys are trash.

This will be one of the worst games of the season and something not even worth watching.

Houston Texans at Indianapolis Colts

This one is a little more understandable.

This game should have had plenty of playoff implications but Peyton Manning’s neck screwed all of that up.

The Colts may be looking for their first win in Week 17 and that might be the biggest storyline surrounding this game.

Houston has locked up a postseason spot for the first time in franchise history and may be resting starters by the time this game rolls around.

They’ll still blank Indianapolis and ruin their season.
