TNA Impact Wrestling Preview: Wild Card Tournament, Someone Gets Fired and More

Kyle SchadlerDec 14, 2011

TNA Wrestling presents a new episode of Impact Wrestling tonight, and we’ll see the fallout of this past Sunday’s Final Resolution.

Quite a bit happened at the show, as all the champions managed to retain their respective titles.

For tonight’s show, the company has confirmed a number of matches as well as two in-ring segments.

Let’s see what TNA has in store for us.

Either Jeff or Karen Jarrett Will Be Fired

Jeff Jarrett has been on Jeff Hardy’s case since he returned in September.

He’s been nothing but talk, though, as Jarrett has been unable to defeat Hardy one-on-one.

At last month’s Turning Point, Hardy beat Jarrett three times, and this past Sunday at Final Resolution, the Charismatic Enigma defeated the King of the Mountain inside of a steel cage.

Unlike their match last month, this one had a few stipulations. If Jarrett had won the match, he would have gotten his wish, because Hardy would have been kicked out of TNA.

Since Hardy won, though, Jarrett’s greatest fear has just come true. Due to his victory, Jeff Hardy will now be wrestling for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship at next month’s Genesis.

The man in charge, Sting, added a last-minute stipulation to the match the day before the show.

He said that on top of getting a title shot, if Hardy won, then one of the Jarretts would be getting fired. Tonight on Impact Wrestling, Sting has vowed to fire either Jeff or Karen Jarrett.

Which one will Sting decide to fire?

Jeff Hardy vs. Bully Ray

One of Immortal’s greatest fears has come true. Jeff Hardy is the No. 1 contender for the World Championship.

At the same time, this is also the fear of a lot of fans as well.

Either way, the now weakened Immortal will be sicking Bully Ray on the Charismatic Enigma to soften him up so he’d be unable to win the title back.

Ray has become one of the best heels in the business, but he’s been tame lately. Instead of being the bully that took out A.J. Styles and Mr. Anderson, he’s been running away from Abyss.

That leads me to believe that Abyss could get involved here.

We could also see Bobby Roode show his face and try to get into the head of Hardy early on.

Who will pick up the victory? Will anyone get involved?

Wild Card Tag-Team Tournament to Determine No. 1 Contenders for Tag Titles

Now that Devon and D’Angelo Dinero seem to be feuding, again, Crimson and Matt Morgan are in need of some new challengers.

TNA did something similar to this in 2008 called the Deuces Wild Tag-Team Tournament.

The tournament featured four actual teams and another four teams made up of random singles wrestlers.

One team featured B.G. James and Awesome Kong.

TNA is doing it again under a different name, but this time all eight teams will be randomly paired together.

What kind of teams will we get to see? Will any of them be able to co-exist the month-long tournament to be able to challenge the champions?

Bobby Roode vs. A.J. Styles Ended in a Draw; How Will It Be Resolved?

At Final Resolution we got to see Bobby Roode and A.J. Styles go at it in a 30-minute iron man match.

It was a phenomenal match that ended in a draw.

Due to that draw, Roode retained his TNA World Championship.

This issue is in no way resolved. The fans deserve a real winner.

Sting knows this and has vowed to resolve the issue tonight.

How will Sting resolve the situation? Will he order a rematch?

Tonight’s TNA Impact Wrestling shows a lot of promise and may very well be a great show!

Tune into tonight to see what happens!
