B/R's 2011 Best of Boxing Awards: Send in Your Votes
Alright fight fans, it's time once again to make your voices heard. We are kicking off the second annual Bleacher Report Best of Boxing Awards. Last year our collaboration piece was a great success for everyone involved, and most of all we give a chance for the real fans to vote and let their voices be heard.
So, just like last year we will again vote on all 14 categories. Here are the categories to vote on:
1. 2011 Fight of the Year:
2. 2011 Fighter of the Year:
3. 2011 Knock Out of the Year:
4. 2011 Best Clinic of the Year:
5. 2011 Comeback of the Year:
6. 2011 Worst Decision of the Year:
7. 2011 Trainer of the Year:
8. 2011 Best Fight Card of the Year:
9. 2011 Best New Prospect of the Year:
10. 2011 Best Boxing Commentator of the Year:
11. 2011 Worst Fight of the Year:
12. 2011 Promoter of the Year:
13. 2011 Round of the Year:
14. 2011 Upset of the Year:
With these 14 categories, simply just private message me, the Boxing Community Leader, with your votes for all 14 categories as well as an explanation as to why you voted for each category. Your explanation can be anywhere from one sentence all the way to a paragraph fully explaining your reasoning for the vote.
Requirements
Voting is open to everyone who is in good standing here at B/R.
As for being selected for the expert commentary for any of the 14 categories, you must:
1) Be a featured columnist of ANY sports community here at B/R.
2) Or be currently ranked in the top 15 rankings here in the Boxing Community with successfully completing at least one minimum boxing writing assignment from Deputy Editor Adam Hirshfield within the last two weeks (Adam and I will confirm this).
3) You must be actively contributing and commenting within the Boxing Community, and you must have your profile filled out with an actual photo of yourself as your profile picture.
Deadline for Voting
All voting must be in by New Year's Eve, December 31, by 5:00 PM Pacific Time. We will aim to have the final collaboration piece completed with the final results and everyone's selected expert commentary completed to be blasted in our massive Thursday newsletter January 5.
Obviously, we have one final major significant fight that may influence everyone's voting. That is of course this Saturday's Andre Ward vs. Carl Froch fight, which will be the winner-take-all final fight in the Showtime Super Six Classic Tournament.
So there you have it, fight fans. Here is your chance once again to get it all off your chest and put true honest democracy to its full potential. Let it be known what the true real deal fight fans feel about what really went down in the sport of boxing in 2011.
If there are any further questions/comments/concerns, as you guys know I am all ears. Feel free to private message me. Happy Holidays!
