Bill Romanowski Video: Is Former Raider's Rant the Craziest of the Year?

Bill Romanowski has said and done many interesting things throughout his career, but his latest comments about the Oakland Raiders' recent struggles might top them all. 

The former linebacker acts as an analyst for Comcast Sportsnet, and he had a bunch of stuff he wanted to get off his chest. He said the team lacks toughness and that they need to start acting like boar hunters ready to take a knife to the pig's throat. 

It was hilarious and shocking all at the same time. It also got us thinking about how this rant stacks up against some of the others we have seen in 2011. 

Romanowski's was good, but David Bennett of Coastal Carolina had a press conference rant for the ages earlier this year. He talked about his players acting like cats, standing in front of mirrors making sure all their jewelry is on and looking pretty before stepping out on the field. 

Bennett then challenged his players to play more like dogs and worry more about the results on the field instead of how they looked walking out of the tunnel. 

That is the simplest way to explain the rant, and I am not doing it justice. He sells it with his mannerisms and intensity in his voice. Also, the fact that he mimics the cat trying to get out of the house is fantastic. 

The biggest difference in these two legendary rants is that Bennett's actually felt natural. He was sitting in a laid back press conference and decided that now was the time to unload. 

I liked Romanowski's rant, but it felt like it was something he thought about in his sleep and decided that he had to get it off his chest. He appeared to have parts of it scripted out. He sold it well enough, but Bennett's was so original and out of left field that I have to give that one the edge. 

Truthfully, there are no winners or losers in this epic battle of rants, but if I had to be stuck on a deserted island with only one soundbite to listen to, it would be Bennett's. 

Unfortunately, there won't be anymore Bennett rants at Coastal Carolina because the team relieved him of his duties earlier this month.
