NFL Power Rankings Week 15: Examining Where ESPN Experts Got It Wrong or Right

Zach KruseDec 14, 2011

ESPN.com and its staff of experts released their Week 15 NFL Power Rankings on Tuesday, so let's dive into the list to see where they got it wrong or right.

1. Packers

2. Ravens

3. Saints

4. Steelers

5. Patriots

6. 49ers

7. Texans

8. Falcons

9. Broncos

10. Jets

Comments

The 49ers take a hard drop from No. 3 to 6 after losing to the Cardinals last Sunday. Fair or foul? Probably fair, especially since the three teams that jumped them—Saints, Steelers and Patriots—are all red-hot right now...Despite winning three straight games with T.J. Yates, the Texans can't claw their way past No. 7...Hard to argue with the order of the three 8-5 teams in the top 10.

11. Lions

12. Giants

13. Titans

14. Cowboys

15. Bengals

16. Raiders

17. Bears

18. Chargers

19. Cardinals

20. Seahawks

Comments

What a mess of teams that are all either 8-5 or 7-6 to start this portion of the list. How can you separate them? One thing is for sure: The Bears and Raiders absolutely belong on the bottom of those teams. Their seasons look headed for disaster...Can't say I agree with the Seahawks being below both the Chargers and Cardinals, as Marshawn Lynch has that team on a roll.

21. Eagles

22. Bills

23. Dolphins

24. Panthers

25. Chiefs

26. Jaguars

27. Redskins

28. Buccaneers

29. Browns

30. Vikings

31. Rams

32. Colts

Comments

The Eagles shoot to the top of the bottom third with a good win in Miami. Were the Dolphins just waiting for Tony Sparano to lose again so they could axe him?...There are some teams here playing ugly football. The Chiefs didn't show up in New York (did you see their onside kick attempt?), the Buccaneers gave up 41 points to the Jaguars, the Browns put their clearly concussed quarterback back into the game and the Vikings couldn't cover a high school receiving corps right now. Oh, and the Rams and Colts are a combined 2-24. Yikes.
