NFL Power Rankings: Lukewarm Teams That Can't Separate from the Pack

There are always those teams every NFL season that have moments of brilliance, but can't separate themselves in the playoff picture.

This season is no different, especially in the bunched-up AFC.

Here are three teams that are neither hot nor cold, but lukewarm.

Like distant relatives who can't decide if they can trust you.

3. Cincinnati Bengals (7-6)

The Bengals were considered by many to be the worst team in the NFL headed into the season, but they started 6-2, in good position to make the playoffs.

Now, they are one game behind the New York Jets for the final wild-card spot in the AFC.

This is a developing team, complete with highs and lows, and a lot of that has to do with having a rookie quarterback under center.

The Bengals are set to become a better team, but losses against top teams show they still have a ways to go.

2. Oakland Raiders (7-6)

The Raiders were supposed to win the AFC West after a good start, but they've faltered lately, highlighted by inconsistent play across the board.

They've lost their last two games, including against the 4-9 Miami Dolphins, and Tim Tebow's Denver Broncos are now in control of the AFC West.

A win against the Detroit Lions in Week 15 would be huge, but I ultimately don't see the Raiders pulling it off as the Broncos surprise everybody and capture the division.

1. Dallas Cowboys (7-6)

Cowboys fans have to be sick to their stomachs by now.

After taking control of the NFC East, the Cowboys have lost their last two games against the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants in heartbreaking fashion.

Now they will likely need a win against the Giants in New York at the end of the season to capture the division.

This is the definition of an inconsistent team, and they've seen several games slip through their fingers in the final quarter.

They have plenty of talent, but not enough composure.

I expect the Cowboys to miss out on the playoffs this season.
