NFL Power Rankings: Teams Whose Postseason Hopes Are Quickly Fading

Alex KayDec 13, 2011

There are only three more games left for each team before the playoffs begin and it seems that some shoo-ins for the postseason are now fighting to survive these next few weeks.

Because of injury, poor play or a various number of other reasons, these three teams especially are going to have to gut out some solid wins, and soon, because they may not be in the playoffs if they continue to fail.

The ‘Boys blew a huge lead against the New York Giants this past week and now have an uphill battle to win the NFC East.

They have a rematch with the Giants in Week 17 and are without a doubt either going to be eliminated from contention at that time or are going to need a win to advance.

It won’t be easy and it won’t be fun for Tony Romo and the rest of the team as they try to fight their way out of another embarrassing season.

Cincinnati Bengals

When the Bengals blew that game against the Houston Texans on Sunday, it pretty much ended their playoff hopes.

With the AFC North so stacked with good teams, the thought of Cincinnati coming out of it and into the postseason was nearly impossible in Week 1.

It was actually a reality up until this past week, but now they will need to win out and have some luck in order to make it.

Chicago Bears

The Bears were cruising to a probable postseason spot this season when Jay Cutler and Matt Forte both suffered back-to-back injuries.

Without their two offensive stars, the Bears have not been able to do enough to win and have very little chance of beating out Detroit and Atlanta for the NFC Wild-Card spot.
