Miami Heat Uniforms: Big 3 Set to Truly Embrace Dark Side with New Threads
Last season, fans and analysts wanted to hate on the Miami Heat because of the way that LeBron James, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh carried themselves after hooking up in South Beach. This season, the trio is ready to truly embrace its evil side with a brand new all black uniform.
Trading in their customary red, white and black outfits for something a little edgier, the new look will make the Heat easier to boo. By stripping their uniforms down to get rid of most of the pomp and circumstance, everything can truly begin for this team.
In 2010, the Heat's Big Three were trying to figure out who they were, how they meshed with each other and what they could do to get better.
Now all the tinkering is done, the time for adjustments has come to an end and it is time to shine like the dominant force that we know they can be. They came close to getting there last year, but fell short in the NBA Finals.
The new-look Heat will be more dangerous, more lethal and more dominant than they ever were in 2010. They needed to do something to change their culture from that heartbreaking season and changing the uniforms is the perfect solution to their problems (and getting LeBron to show up in the fourth quarter).
Maybe I am putting too much stock in the new uniforms. I mean, it is ultimately on the players to go out and perform well in order for the team to win championships. But I also think that this was a calculated move by the franchise.
Everyone outside of Miami rooted against them last season. Ratings were through the roof for the NBA Finals because we wanted to see them lose. When you are portrayed as the villain, the best thing to do is embrace it. If you don't it will crush you.
LeBron knows that he is going to be a villain for the rest of his career. These new uniforms will just get Wade and Bosh to follow him down his dark path.
