WWE Monday Night RAW 12/12/11: Quick Thoughts on the Return of Kane

Kyle SchadlerDec 12, 2011

The WWE Slammy Award presentation is now over.

We saw a total of nine Slammy’s given out including Superstar of the Year, OMG Moment of the Year and Game-Changer of the Year.

The majority of the winners were quite predictable and the Slammy portion of the night was kind of boring.

We got to see some good matches such as the fatal four-way match and the tag-team match featuring the combatants in the WWE Championship match at TLC as well as Randy Orton.

To me, though, the night was kind of lacking overall. It was missing something, something big.

As John Cena vs. Mark Henry rolled on, I gave up hope that something would happen.

Then we saw the explosion of fire on the stage. The lights went out and Kane’s music started to play.

Then he appeared!

The Big Red Monster was back and it looked like he was heading for the man who injured him, Mark Henry.

He was wearing an odd-looking mask, almost “Man in the Iron Mask” in design. Henry ran off and John Cena took a huge chokeslam from the returning superstar.

As he stood over his body, Kane removed the metal mask to reveal a mask similar to the last one he wore, only this time it looked grey in color instead of the usual red and black, and kind of looked like it was made of skin.

Kane is back with his mask on and I couldn’t be happier!

Kane has lost a lot of steam over the last few years and the return of his mask could be just what he needed to rejuvenate his career.

A lot of fans will no doubt be happy about this as well, but there are some who won’t see this as a good thing, such as the locker room.

The WWE locker room is now on alert.

There is a crazed man running around the locker room now and it’s going to be hard to imagine if anyone can stop him.

With his chokeslam to Cena it seems like his return feud would be with WWE’s Superman.

I find that very interesting.

I figured Kane would be going after Mark Henry first, but he instead went for the face of the WWE. Perhaps he’s making a statement.

He’s showing everyone that no one is safe from his wrath, not even the 10-time WWE champion.

The question is: Is Kane really going to be feuding with Cena or was it just a statement?

If he’s about to feud with Cena, Kane will have to win the feud. Losing his return feud would kill his momentum right off the bat.

I personally think that it’s a statement to the rest of the roster.

He’s telling them that he’s back with a vengeance. No more jokes, no more clowning around with Big Show, no more showing compassion of any kind!

The Kane we got to know over the past few years is gone.

Like the Undertaker’s urn, Kane may see the mask as a power of some kind. With it back on, no one will stop him.

WWE locker room, you’re on notice. Kane is back, and he’s out for blood!
