WWE TLC 2011: Why Zack Ryder Will Claim the U.S. Title from Dolph Ziggler

At TLC, Zack Ryder will get one more chance to take the United States Championship from current champion Dolph Ziggler.

These two have been going back and forth for a couple of months, with Ryder getting the lions share of the victories in their rivalry.

Ryder has been petitioning fans online for a US title match, but interim GM John Luarinaitis did not think a few thousand signatures was enough for a title shot, and you can't really disagree with him.

Ryder got a shot at one more opportunity, but he would have to go through his buddy John Cena to earn it, who was also fighting for his own shot at the WWE title.

In the end, Cena beat Ryder despite a good showing from the Long Island native. Ryder was visibly upset at the outcome, yelling to Cena, "This was my only shot, Bro!"

Cena pleaded with Funkman to give Ryder one more shot, and he got his chance after Cena gave up his own title opportunity so Ryder could have one more chance.

Ryder had to face Mark Henry to earn his title shot, and it looked like he would fall short yet again until Cena came out for the assist to give Ryder the win.

This gives Ryder the shot he needs to finally win a singles title in WWE. To this day, I am not sure why announcers don't mention he is a former tag team champion.

At TLC, Ziggler and Ryder will go head to head in what is the only match without some kind of hardcore stipulation at the event.

It is still possible a stipulation could be added between now and the show, but I think a real match would be the best way for these two to go at it.

Ziggler is an amazing technician who keeps getting better, and Ryder showed in his match against the US champion at Vengeance that he could hang with Mr Ziggles.

Ryder has more to gain from a win here than Dolph does, since it looks like the #HEEL will be getting some upper-card matches soon.
