WWE News: Will We See a Talk Show Program on the New WWE Network?

Chris HumphreyDec 12, 2011

As news about what will be on the future WWE network continues to be released, we might have a talk format program for the new channel when the WWE venture hopefully debuts in the spring of 2012.

From ProWrestling.com (via ProWrestling.net)

"

WWE officials are looking at the possibility of doing a daily talk show on the new WWE Network. The show would also be simulcast as a radio show

WWE's Scott Stanford is being talked about as a possible host for the show but he may be paired up with guest hosts because of concern that he may not have enough knowledge of the product to pull it off.

The show may air for a few hours each weekday and word is that the plan is to make it a completely kayfabe show.

While I honestly don’t know much about Scott Stanford during his time with the WWE, I think this could be a good idea for the network if it can be altered slightly from how it is worded in the quote.

The whole idea of the show being completely kayfabe is a bit disappointing as it would be nice to have an interview with certain superstars and be able to talk about their road to where they are now instead of being in their specific character in the interview.

I know that Vince McMahon would not like CM Punk talking in depth about his time in Ring of Honor or anything about his career before he arrived in the WWE, but it would make for a better show for the network.

Even though a talk show with no kayfabe would be a dream for wrestling fans, the show should at least try to blend the two between their onscreen roles and real life to pull people into who they are seeing as they watch the program.

So Bleachers, do you like the idea of the WWE having their own version of "The Tonight Show" on their new channel or will it bomb and be just another bad idea for the company’s new venture?
