WWE: 10 Things We Should See on Raw Tonight
Tonight is a three-hour Raw super-show featuring the annual Slammy Awards.
In the past, the awards have been kind of seen as a joke and have overshadowed the stories and feuds that were currently going on in the WWE.
It is important that, tonight, the Slammy Awards are portrayed more seriously and the important angles of the superstars are still the most important thing about tonight.
Triple H
1 of 10Last week it was announced that Triple H would face Kevin Nash in a Sledgehammer Ladder Match at TLC. This may not be the best idea because it seems like the match is being rushed after they have dragged out this feud.
If this match wants to get anyone excited, Triple H has to be on Raw tonight. He has to come and address the attacks from Nash weeks ago. This should lead to Nash coming out and a little brawl starting that is broken up by security.
Something that also should be addressed with Triple H is the fact that he still is COO of the company.
An Angle for John Cena
2 of 10John Cena has been a big focus on Raw the past few weeks, as he always is. The problem is, through all the Roddy Piper appearances, Mick Foley appearances and Zack Ryder stuff involving John Cena, they have failed to give Cena an angle. As of right now, he does not have a match at TLC, which is this coming Sunday. I really can't see the WWE leaving John Cena out of a pay-per-view.
Is the WWE really not going to have John Cena at TLC? This lack of an angle for Cena could be because they are in the process of turning Cena heel and it will happen with a shocking "bang".
It is possible that John Cena might get involved in the Triple H and Kevin Nash drama. Possibly choosing to side with Kevin Nash and ultimately becoming a heel.
A CM Punk Pipe Bomb
3 of 10CM Punk's surge up the company has a lot to do with his microphone skills. Tonight, Punk should be given some time to hype his match at TLC and deliver a pipe bomb.
The Triple Threat WWE Championship Match at TLC was constructed quickly and lacks a strong back story. Punk could give this match some excitement and anticipation by getting into a verbal war with Miz, Del Rio and/or anyone else.
Miz and Alberto Del Rio
4 of 10The Triple Threat TLC WWE Championship Match was announced last week and there is no "meat" in this match. The feud between CM Punk and Alberto Del Rio is old news and the Miz has been thrown in to the title picture after R-Truth made the worst mistake of his career. CM Punk vs. The Miz is very intriguing, mainly because of the verbal battle that they can deliver.
There has to be some interesting segment tonight involving the challengers for the WWE Championship to draw some more interest in this match. A possible match between Miz and Del Rio that is interrupted by CM Punk could make this three-way rivalry interesting. The match could be a "no DQ" match that ends the night and have CM Punk come out and lay them both out with a chair. Then lay on both of them, pretending to pin them both and smiling in the camera.
This match should come after a verbal dispute between these three earlier in the night. The war of words could start getting personal and start with them arguing who should win the Slammy Award for Superstar of the Year.
Brodus Clay
5 of 10The return of Brodus Clay continues to be delayed and postponed. This could be because the creative team is struggling to find a good direction for him to go in when he bursts back on to the scene.
A three-hour Raw super-show is a good time for the big man to make his return. I think a weak angle for creative to go with would be starting a rivalry with Cena because it would be the same old thing and stunt the turn of John Cena as a heel. If Clay and Cena begin a feud, it will mimic so many Cena feuds in the past, like the late Umaga or Great Khali.
Clay could come out and take out both Dolph Ziggler and Zack Ryder at different times tonight. Then, after their match at TLC (which Ryder will win), Clay could come out and take out Ryder once again. This would start a feud between Ryder, who is a big fan favorite, and Clay.
More Promo Videos
6 of 10It was reported this week that on the December 19th Raw, there will be a big hint towards who the January 2nd mystery superstar is. Many feel it is either the Undertaker or Chris Jericho. I have a different opinion...
The other promo that is consistently shown on Raw is the "Kane Resurrected" videos.
Tonight, expect a small hint towards the January 2nd promo but nothing too revealing because of the big hint next week. The "It Begins" promo tonight will most likely just keep you guessing even more and could possibly just make it more confusing.
As for the Kane promos, expect something big tonight. It is a three-hour special and the last Raw before a pay-per-view. Don't be surprised if the lights go out (when Mark Henry is in action), and fire explodes from the turnbuckle. Or, if Kane is coming back with the mask on, the promo video could have him facing the the other direction, in his old attire with his mask in his hand, with fire in the background. Then he slowly puts the mask back on and turns around quickly, then the promo ends abruptly.
Air Boom or at Least Kofi Kingston
7 of 10Air Boom was a promising tag team that was breathing some life into the tag team division again. However, Evan Bourne screwed it all up and got suspended. The future of Air Boom is now in jeopardy and the WWE has to decide what they are going to do with them soon because it is not fair to Kofi Kingston, who has put in his time with the company.
Tonight, Air Boom can not be left out of the program. We should see either the tag team reunite and wrestle tonight or at least see Kofi Kingston in a match. Kingston deserves the respect from the company.
Booker T and Cody Rhodes
8 of 10Another match at TLC that seems to be rushed onto the card is the Intercontinental Championship Match. When Booker T returned at the Royal Rumble last year, he got a huge pop from the crowd. Now he is making his return to the ring but the build up for the match has not been big enough. This match has so much potential and the WWE might be rushing it.
Rhodes and Booker should have some time tonight to build up their match at TLC and the return of Booker T.
On a side note: It is possible that this feud could lead to the return of Cody Rhodes brother/Booker T's old partner, Goldust. There has been talks about a match between Cody Rhodes and his brother Goldust.
Mason Ryan and Alex Riley
9 of 10When the WWE was in the "Attitude Era", the roster was loaded with talent. The depth of the WWE roster allowed so many different matches and allowed the company to never feel repetitive. In recent years, the company has had many key superstars leave the company or retire. This has led to the creative team being limited in what they can do.
The WWE has recently been bringing many legends back and has had some success in rising the young talent to the top. Two superstars that should get a push and could help give the roster some depth is Mason Ryan and Alex Riley. Tonight these superstars should be in action, maybe as a tag team, and it should be the start of a strong push for these superstars.
