Kevin Kolb will be riding the pine, but all is not lost the for the Cardinals. They get to take on the dejected Browns and Skelton proved last week against the 49ers that he can get it done.

Obviously that's not any consolation for Kolb fantasy owners, but chances are if you have made it to the playoffs, you haven't placed too much stock in Kolb.

UPDATE: Tuesday 6:00 pm EST

Kolb has yet another concussion and it sounds like he is trying to proceed with extreme caution:

With concussions effecting seemingly every position in every professional sport lately, and Kolb is not trying to be a tough guy:

The memory loss question popped up after Browns QB Colt McCoy admitted to not remembering playing in the last four minutes of the Browns' loss to the Steelers last week because the team kept him in the game after a vicious helmet to helmet hit from James Harrison.

It's still early, but Kolb sounds like a guy that will certainly miss this week, and potentially the remainder of the season. He doesn't want to risk his career for a 6-7 team, and it's hard to blame him.

San Francisco's LB Ahmad Brooks accidentally kneed the QB in the back of the head, and it became apparent fairly quickly that Kolb would be done for the day.

Kolb barely had a chance to get his feet wet in this game. He was just 1-of-1 for two yards.

This is Kolb's second concussion of the season. He also suffered one in Week 1. Kolb will now have to pass the league-mandated concussion test before he will be cleared to practice or play.

This certainly cast his playing status into question.

Kolb will almost certainly miss some practices this week, and even if he does pass those tests before Sunday, the coaching staff may just decided to keep him on the bench.

Facilitating the Cardinals in this decision is the fact that they played very well after Kolb went out. He was replaced by John Skeleton and he played very well—especially considering he was facing a tough 49ers defense.

Skeleton finished the game going 19-of-28 with 282 yards, three touchdown and two interceptions. That strong performance makes it easier for the Cardinals to decide to keep Kolb out for next week.

Fantasy Impact

There are going to be far better options than Kolb next week. First of all, it seems highly unlikely that Kolb will play. Second of all, Kolb will be playing a Browns team that is getting beat by the run and not the pass.

The Browns are 31st in rushing yards allowed and second in passing yards.

If you were counting on Kolb next week, it is time to start looking for another option.
