NCAA Basketball: Macatology Tournament Seeds for Dec. 12, 2011
Here’s this week’s edition of Macatology after the craziness of the past weekend with upsets and brawls among the headlines around the country.
It will be a light week for games, as many schools are having finals. Here are the seeds for this week.

Kentucky
Ohio State
Syracuse moves up to the top seed in the tournament after a dominating win over George Washington.
Duke built a big early lead and had to hang on against Washington.
Kentucky and Ohio State both stay on the top line after losses on the road in tough environments.

Louisville
Baylor
Xavier
North Carolina has won a couple in a row after their stumbles a couple of weeks ago, but was pushed by Long Beach State on Saturday.
Louisville has now won nine in a row after their opening loss.
Baylor had the weekend off after the dominating road win over Northwestern a week ago.
Xavier continued to impress with a dominating win on Saturday, despite the ugliness with rival Cincinnati.

Kansas
Marquette
Missouri
Connecticut had the weekend off after a good home win over a very competitive Harvard squad.
Kansas moves up to a No. 3 seed after the huge home win over previously unbeaten Ohio State.
Marquette has followed Louisville in winning nine straight after an opening loss.
Missouri remains one of the unbeatens after a blowout win over Navy.

Michigan
Florida
Wisconsin
Pittsburgh is playing very well at the moment, winning their seventh in a row over Oklahoma State in New York City.
Michigan has won a couple in a row, the latest being a home win over a pesky Oakland squad.
Florida drops down a line after a tough home win over Arizona and a blowout of Rider.
Wisconsin responded well from the previous week with a couple of wins, including one over Nevada-Las Vegas.

Seton Hall
Illinois
Michigan State
Stanford had the whole week off after the win over North Carolina State.
Seton Hall continues its climb after their fifth win in a row on Saturday over Wake Forest.
Illinois stayed perfect this week, capping it off with a home win over Coppin State.
Michigan State got a nice road win on the West coast, beating Gonzaga in Spokane.

Vanderbilt
Georgetown
Alabama had a rough week, including a blowout road loss to Dayton.
California rebounded from their latest loss with a blowout win over San Jose State.
Vanderbilt had the weekend off after getting a hard-fought road win at Davidson.
Georgetown has now won six in a row since their loss in Maui, their latest being a win over Howard.

Mississippi State
Gonzaga
Minnesota has already won 10 games on the season, their latest a blowout of St. Peter’s.
Arizona rebounded from the overtime loss to Florida with a home win over Clemson.
Mississippi State also has 10 wins, including the last eight in a row.
Gonzaga has taken a bit of a tumble, losing their last two for their first losses of the season.

Indiana
Nevada-Las Vegas drops a bit after a road loss to Wisconsin over the weekend.
Virginia has won six in a row, including an impressive win over George Mason.
Memphis had their three-game winning streak snapped, losing at home to Murray State.
Indiana moves a couple of lines after what will be a signature win this season, the upset of top-ranked Kentucky at home.

Saint Louis
Dayton
Purdue comes back from a tough loss last weekend with a couple wins next week.
Northern Iowa has won eight in a row now and looks like they’ll be one of the top mid-majors this year.
Saint Louis is on a three-game winning streak after beating Illinois-Springfield on Saturday.
Dayton continues to have an up-and-down year and is possibly on the way back up with the home win over Alabama.

Virginia Tech
Mississippi
Harvard responded from their first loss of the season with a good win over Boston University.
Creighton slides down a line after suffering their first loss of the year at St. Joseph’s on Saturday.
Virginia Tech got back on the winning track with a road win over Rhode Island.
Mississippi is back on a roll, having won five in a row with their latest being a home win over Mississippi Valley State.

Oklahoma
Texas A&M has won six in a row and eight of nine overall, which includes a home win over Louisiana-Monroe on Saturday.
Wichita State makes a move into the field, having won five in a row, including a good home win over Utah State.
St. Joseph’s moves up a line after handing Creighton their first loss of the season.
Oklahoma is on a three-game winning streak, getting a nice home win over Arkansas.

West Virginia
Temple
Indiana State
Nevada has won four games in a row and is looking to take control in the WAC.
St. Mary’s has won five of their first six and still have the second best RPI in the country.
Wyoming is trying to be the second team from the MWC and has won nine of their first 10 this season.
West Virginia gets back into the field after handing Kansas State their first loss on the road.
Temple is playing well and got a nice win over Villanova on Saturday.
Indiana State just sneaks into the field after getting a win over non-Div. 1 Maryville.

Cleveland State
Murray State may be setting itself up for a run up the chart after staying unbeaten by topping Memphis on the road.
Ohio continues to play well, getting their fourth win in a row on the West coast over Portland on Saturday.
Virginia Commonwealth has started to come around after a shaky start with a blowout home win over intra-city rival Richmond last week.
Cleveland State is on a roll once again, winning five in a row with a home win over Akron last weekend.

Iona
Weber State
Denver
College of Charleston got a tight conference win over Tennessee-Chattanooga ahead of a visit from Tennessee this coming Wednesday.
Iona continues to play a tough schedule, and it might have caught up with them with a road loss to Marshall.
Weber State moves up a line as they continue to try and reclaim the Big Sky Conference bid.
Denver had won six of their first seven after a close home loss to fellow 14 seed Iona.

Lamar
Albany
Lehigh has won of eight of their first 10 and got a nice road win at Wagner on Saturday.
Cal Poly has gotten off to a solid start and got a road win over San Jose State over the weekend.
Lamar had a good week, winning a couple games.
Albany is the only team above .500 in the America East right now.

Coastal Carolina
Norfolk State is the first 2-0 team in the MEAC this season.
Alabama A&M has lost a couple in a row after a 2-1 start.
Robert Morris had a tough home loss to Cleveland State during the week.
South Dakota State has been on a roll as of late, winning four in a row.
Belmont has won six in a row and got a home win over Tennessee State last week.
Coastal Carolina is on a three game winning streak and blew out The Citadel on the road.
