Dwight Howard Lakers: Absurd Demands Prove He's the League's Top Drama Queen

There are already too many drama queens in Los Angeles. Bringing Dwight Howard to town would be overkill.

The Orlando Magic center wants to get far away from the Sunshine State and decided to expressed his demands to the media:

"

The stuff that I have asked for, the stuff I felt our team needed to get better, none of it has happened. That's not me being cocky, but I want to be involved with the organization. I've been here for a long time, I don't want to sit around.

"

The "stuff" he is talking about are his demands to be traded to either the LA Lakers, Dallas Mavericks and New Jersey Nets unless the Magic drastically alter their course of action.

With one year remaining on his contract with Orlando, he doesn't want to be stuck in another year of mediocrity. The big problem I have with his comments is that he's essentially telling his teammates they stink and he doesn't want to play with them.

What if a trade doesn't happen? He will be stuck playing with a bunch of guys that know he doesn't have confidence in them. It's brutal from a mental aspect for the Magic when they all know their best player doesn't think they're worthy.

The Lakers don't need this kind of diva on their team.

Kobe Bryant is already the undisputed alpha dog of the team and doesn't need a whiny center that complains about roster transactions. Howard is about building his brand nationally and championships aren't necessarily at the top of his "to do" list.

Obviously he would instantly make the Lakers a better team, potentially even a championship team, but if the ship isn't sailing smoothly then you can bet Howard with be the first one to complain and make head coach Mike Brown's first year in LA a nightmare. He clearly is not above throwing his teammates under the bus.

Team chemistry trumps talent in basketball and ignoring that would be a grave error.
