Christian Ponder Injury: QB Won't Help Vikings Avoid Beat Down from Lions
The Minnesota Vikings are facing a huge division test this week against the Detroit Lions, but they will be heading into battle with Christian Ponder at the helm.
Vikings rookie quarterback Christian Ponder will start on Sunday against the Lions after suffering a hip pointer against the Denver Broncos last week. Minnesota will need the young gunslinger under center, because no Adrian Peterson in the lineup means a Ponder will be passing early and often.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
This will be Ponder’s first start against Detroit, but he will be lucky enough to face their defense without the suspended Ndamukong Suh. With Suh out for the next two games and an injury to Nick Fairley keeping him out, Ponder should have more time in the pocket.
Ponder is coming off an excellent game against the Broncos in which he threw for over 300 yards and three touchdowns. While there is no doubt that Ponder will help the putrid Vikings offense, he can’t outscore the Lions. With Calvin Johnson and the offensive attack they have in Detroit, nothing Christian Ponder can do will stop the beating the Lions will lay at the feet of the Vikings.
Ponder will have a solid day despite his team’s failure.
