WWE TLC 2010: Top 5 Moments from the WWE Event
WWE TLC is coming up in just seven short days, and the energy is slowly being felt by fans all over the world. Tons of big matches are made, and the stage is set for an incredible show.
For today, I take one last look at the TLC events from the past. Last year's show was pretty good. It was not an amazing three hours, but it was entertaining. On the same night, a new No. 1 contender was named, Nexus fought in a tag match and Daniel Bryan was in the dark match, and much more happened!
5. Dolph vs. Kofi vs. Swagger
1 of 5This was a triple-threat ladder match for the Intercontinental Title.
Dolph Ziggler was the champion, and he had two great challengers on this night. All three men had great performances, and the right man won.
It was yet another clear indication that the future of the company looks bright. Just a month later, Dolph would be world champion.
4. Divas Tables Match
2 of 5This was a great feud to close 2010. Beth Phoenix and Natalya were the faces. Laycool played the heels in this one, and it was an epic tag match.
The only catch was it had to be a Tables match. Wow! All four worked the gimmick match well, and it was a fitting ending. Laycool went through a table, and the faces stood tall. Exactly how a story should end.
3. Miz Retains His WWE Title over Randy Orton
3 of 5This feud lasted one more month, but it ended here. When The Miz retained at TLC, it was clear that there was no reason to do another match. However, nothing can take away from the importance of this match.
The Miz was the new WWE Champion, and he needed every win possible. This was a Tables match and Miz won.
Yes, it was dirty. Yes the amazingly talented Alex Riley got involved. Who cares? Heels cheat. Faces shouldn't. Period.
2. Edge Completes His Year Long Journey
4 of 5Edge returned in January. He won the Royal Rumble to earn a world title match.
Months later, he had yet to gain the gold he wanted so badly. In December, he had one final shot.
It was a fatal four-way TLC match against Kane, Rey Mysterio and Alberto Del Rio. Kane had been a dominating champion, so it was not going to be an easy night.
Edge did not care. He was the master of this atmosphere, and he proved it one last time. He won the World title, and it was a great year long journey completed!
1. John Cena Ends Nexus
5 of 5This was a Chairs match between John Cena and Wade Barrett. However, it was for much more than that. It was all about where Nexus would go heading into 2011.
WWE made the right choice. Cena beat Barrett and all but ended the Nexus' reign of terror. They continued afterwards for a short while, but this was the end in my eyes.
Just as Cena rightfully won at SummerSlam earlier in the feud, WWE rightfully ended this story line at the right time.
Barrett lost and was ironically buried by a ton of chairs after the match. Thanks to John Cena, the Nexus' downfall was apparent, and I loved their feud! Great beginning. Great ending!
