Kentucky vs Indiana: Hoosiers Will Rocket Up Polls with Massive Upset

Indiana just put the nation on notice that they are a force to be reckoned this college basketball season. They improved their record to 9-0 by taking down No. 1 Kentucky in a thrilling game that had enough drama to be March Madness worthy.

The Upset

This back-and-forth game finally had a victor when Christian Watford hit a buzzer-beating three pointer to give the Hoosiers a 73-72 victory.

The lead in this game changed hands five times in the final 121 seconds. 

Watford was the game's leading scorer with 20 points. This was a total team effort for the Hoosiers, who had five players score double digits in points. Doron Lamb led the Wildcats with 19.

Hoosier's Impressive Fast Start

Indiana has not just been winning games, they have been demolishing opponents. This is their first win that was not by double digits.

While this was their first victory against a ranked team, they are not without other impressive wins. The Hoosiers already have a 16-point trouncing of Butler and an 11-point victory over North Carolina State.

The Final Nail in the Coffin

Indiana is going to make their first debut of the season in the Top 25 next week. They won't just squeak in either. This win put everyone on notice about the potential of of this team.

Expect Indiana to debut around No. 15 when the polls come out.

Tom Crean has his squad performing at a high level, and it is clear that they have the potential to make some serious noise in the NCAA Tournament.

This team has leadership, depth, great shooting and solid defense. They are currently fourth in the nation in field goal percentage. They also just held Kentucky to their second lowest point total of the season.

The Hoosiers are a nightmare to defend as they can get points from any position on the floor. They have five players averaging over double digits in scoring. They also have another two players averaging over six points per game.

This is a solid all around team without a weakness. This is clearly the best squad Indiana has had in years, and fans should feel free to set their hopes high for this season.
