Tim Tebow: Elway's Comments Only Serve to Protect Public Image
John Elway’s recent comments about Tim Tebow were made to please the fans.
In a recent interview with FOXSports.com, Elway said he hopes the ceiling for Tebow is a mile high, and there’s nobody supporting Tebow more than him.
So that brings me to the question of the day—did Elway really mean what he said? After all, this is the same guy that said earlier this season that Tebow doesn’t bring the Broncos any closer to find that coveted quarterback of the future.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
From early into the season all the way to right now, most associated with the media have reversed their opinion about the once Heisman winner. So why can’t the owner?
First and foremost, I firmly believe this is a move to better Elway’s public image. Bronco fans adore Tebow and Tebow’s fans around the country are increasing by the moment, so it’s a smart move to try and reverse the public image that he already created earlier in the season.
Instead of saying, Tebow isn’t the quarterback of the future, Elway is now saying that on second thought, maybe he is. That’s a smart move by Elway, and I don’t fault him for it. However, I do fault him if it isn’t sincere.
Obviously, I’m in no position to say if it was sincere or not because I didn’t talk to him, but I believe he does like Tebow. I mean, how could you not?
All this kid has done is win, lift the spirits around the organization, bring desire and passion to his teammates and say all the right things along the way.
He’s a great ambassador for the sport, the team and the city of Denver. Whether Elway was sincere or not remains unknown, but I’m almost positive that Elway made these comments to let the public know he’s changed his stance on Tebow.
Only time will tell whether Elway has changed his stance on Tebow for the long haul, but a playoff berth and a playoff victory by Tebow will likely change his mind.
