UFC 140 Predictions: Jon Jones Will Get Easy Victory over Lyoto Machida
Jon Jones continues to roll through the competition, as a UFC 140 matchup against Lyoto Machida will have Jones coming out on top easy.
Machida, the significantly older fighter of the two, is more of a fighter praised on his reputation as opposed to the quality of his fighting as of late.
Despite his success throughout his career, Machida has lost two of his last three fights and is failing to show the dominance he once did. The losses came to Rampage Jackson and Mauricio Rua.
Meanwhile, it is Jones that comes into this match red hot, riding a five-match winning streak and a 14-1 record for his career.
What makes the streak all the more impressive is that his last two bouts were victories over the same fighters Machida failed to beat in his last three fights.
The last two wins for Jones came against Rampage Jackson and Mauricio Rua, beating Jackson most recently at UFC 135.
Based on the way the two have fought as of late, as well as their performances against similar opponents, Jones has to be the overwhelming favorite.
Not to mention this is just a 24-year-old fighter who is young and will only continue to get better and improve going forward.
"Bones" is an impressive fighter, one that utilizes his takedowns with his elusive, quick-paced style. Expect nothing less from Jones in this bout, as he will teach Machida a lesson or two with the way he has been fighting as of late.
Machida will look to take Jones out early, as the longer the bout goes, the bigger advantage Jones will have in this fight. Jones should and will come out on top in this one, riding his momentum to victory.
