Week 14 Fantasy Football Projections: Biggest Point Producers at Every Position

Ryan RudnanskyDec 10, 2011

We're all set for another week of NFL action, and this week a lot of fantasy football's top producers won't disappoint.

Several fantasy stars have favorable matchups in Week 14, and you can bet they will capitalize on forgiving defenses.

Here are Week 14's biggest point producers at every position, excluding the Cleveland-Pittsburgh game on Thursday.

Quarterback: Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers

I thought about putting Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford here, given his favorable matchup against the Minnesota Vikings, but I simply can't sway from Aaron Rodgers now until he has a down game.

Last week against the New York Giants, Rodgers exploded once again, throwing for 369 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He also added 32 rushing yards. It netted fantasy owners over 32 fantasy points.

Against the Oakland Raiders at home, Rodgers has a nice matchup. The Raiders have ceded the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks this season.

Running Back: Maurice Jones-Drew, Jacksonville Jaguars

Maurice Jones-Drew continues to show he's one of the NFL's superstars.

Despite bad quarterback play in Jacksonville, Jones-Drew continues to produce. He rushed for 97 yards and caught six passes for 91 yards and a touchdown against the San Diego Chargers in Week 13, scoring nearly 25 fantasy points.

Jones-Drew faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 14, who have given up the second-most fantasy points to running backs this season.

Wide Receiver: Calvin Johnson, Detroit Lions

It may seem obvious to put Calvin Johnson here given he's averaging the most fantasy points among active receivers this season, but he actually has been pretty disappointing of late.

He hasn't scored 11 or more fantasy points since Week 8, and against the New Orleans Saints in Week 13, Johnson scored less than seven fantasy points.

But Johnson is bound to blow up, and he faces the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14, who have given up the third-most fantasy points to receivers this season.

Look for Megatron to get back on track in Detroit.

Tight End: Jimmy Graham, New Orleans Saints

Many people projected Jimmy Graham to have a breakout year this season, but no one could have expected this.

He's already racked up 1,046 receiving yards and eight touchdowns in 12 games, and he's been even more valuable in PPR leagues, with 75 receptions on the season.

The Tennessee Titans' pass defense hasn't been the same this season, and they are actually giving up the sixth-most fantasy points to tight ends.

Graham will continue to dominate against the Titans in Tennessee.

Kicker: David Akers, San Francisco 49ers

I love me some David Akers.

Akers is averaging the most fantasy points among kickers this season, in part because he's getting a lot of opportunities in the developing 49ers offense, and also because he's simply really, really good.

Akers is 32-of-37 this season for the 49ers, and he's 6-of-6 from 50-plus yards.

Against an Arizona Cardinals defense that has come on as of late, I expect Akers to get plenty of opportunities to make fantasy owners happy.
