Chris Paul and More Studs Still on the Trading Block: NBA Trade Rumors

Jake MartinDec 10, 2011

With the New Orleans Hornets, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers trade getting nixed, Chris Paul leads a group of studs that are still on the trading block.

Even though the trade that boded well for all three teams involved was nixed this week, Paul still practiced for the New Orleans Hornets on Friday and Lamar Odom showed up to practice a tad bit late.

So now we start from the beginning. Who are the studs on the trading block, you might ask? Well, it’s the guys that were involved in that trade and there’s a few rumors flying around Orlando and Dallas as well.

Obviously the superstar that everyone wants to bring to their team is Paul, but there are reports that bring Dwight Howard’s name into trade talks as well.

ESPN reported that Dwight Howard met with the New Jersey Nets, and while it might have bordered on tampering in the league’s rules conversations, this leads me to another question. Is Howard on the trade block?

No matter what Howard says, I believe he’s unhappy in Orlando and would like to play in a bigger market with a better group of players around him. Only time will tell if Howard is on the trading block or not, but this certainly changes a lot of key elements.

So if Howard is on the trading block, there are two potential big-time moves that will be made over the course of this month. Don’t forget about that stud in Los Angeles either. No, not Andrew Bynum and I’m not talking about Lamar Odom either.

I’m talking about that center that, along with Kobe Bryant, has helped bring the city of Los Angeles another championship. With all these talks about Paul and Howard, wherever Pau Gasol should land could have a large impact on the league.
