NFL Week 14 Picks: Dallas Cowboys and Home Teams on Upset Alert

Jeff ChaseDec 10, 2011

The Dallas Cowboys will be hosting the New York Giants this week, and they are one of a few NFL teams that will be on upset alert while trying to maintain home field advantage.

It is getting close to playoff time, so many teams that are still fighting for a spot are going to be bringing the heat this weekend in order to put themselves in position to get a taste of the postseason. The following teams are going to have a tough time winning at home this weekend.

The Broncos will be hosting the Chicago Bears this weekend. Although the Bears will be without starting quarterback Jay Cutler and running back Matt Forte, they should be getting things back on track following their recent two-game skid.

Tim Tebow has been on a roll lately, especially in coming back with the Broncos in a rout. There is no doubt that the Bears offense will have to keep up their end of the deal, but Tebow is going to have a hard time handling this veteran Bears defense.

The Bears defense has tripped up lately, so look for them to get things back on track and try and put a stop to the Broncos' winning streak. You can never eliminate Tebow, but his run may just come to an end. If it doesn't, than the Bears' playoff hopes will.

With the New Orleans Saints coming to town, Drew Brees and the electrifying Saints offense will be looking to put an end to the Titans recent winning ways. The Titans are only two games behind the Texans, who are onto their third quarterback in as many games.

The Titans need to win as many games as they can if they hope to grab the AFC South title, but this week will likely set them back, as the 9-3 Saints will be too strong for them.

The Titans are only allowing their opponents to throw for 233 yards per game, but Brees and the leagues No. 1 pass offense could likely tear this secondary apart. It is going to take a lot for the Titans, as they likely will be occupied with stopping Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram on the ground.

If running back Chris Johnson can finally turn things on, there could be a small chance here that the Titans pull through. Thing is, it doesn't look likely with the way the Saints have been playing this season.

Dallas Cowboys

Eli Manning and the Giants will be visiting their division rivals in the Cowboys this weekend. The Cowboys hold the lead in the NFC East, but the Giants are still fighting for the top spot. This is the first meeting between the two teams this season, so this game is a must win for either team.

If the Giants can win this game, it would put them in the drivers seat to win the division. They would hold the tie breaker over Tony Romo and the Cowboys, and would be able to seal the deal at home in Week 17.

The Cowboys have been playing extremely well, but the Giants will be looking to turn things around following their recent four-game skid. No opportunity seems better than to upset one of their biggest foes.
