UFC 140 Fight Card: How Jon Jones Will Crush Lyoto Machida

Tim McTiernanDec 10, 2011

Jon Jones is one of the most versatile fighters in MMA today.

He has outstanding and unorthodox striking; he has some of the best wrestling in the light heavyweight division; he has fantastic ground-and-pound; and he has shown an ever-evolving Jiu-Jitsu game.

Lyoto Machida is known as one of the most elusive fighters in MMA, with outstanding striking and an underrated Jiu-Jitsu game.

With that said, Jones will absolutely crush Machida any way that he wants to.

Jones has the wrestling credentials to decide where this fight takes place. He has the striking—and the reach and length—to cancel out Machida's elusiveness.

However, should Jones be getting beat on the feet, he will take Machida down and pound him out.

Jones has too many tools at his disposal to defeat Machida; and in typical Jones fashion, he will win this fight without being in trouble for a single second.

My personal prediction is that Jon Jones defeats Lyoto Machida via fifth round TKO.
