Purdue Basketball Video: Watch Boilermakers Fans' Rap Video "Boiler Up"
Every time a new fan rap video comes out regarding a sports figure or team, I always find myself wondering how the heck it was possible to make it worse than the last one, and those were my exact thoughts as I watched the "Boiler Up" video for Purdue Boilermakers basketball.
I know it's the holidays and that I'm supposed to be spreading cheer and goodwill to all men, but for some reason this video leaves me feeling like Scrooge.
To be quite frank, it's horrible, and the standards aren't very high, which is the sad part.

Report: Biggest Spenders in Men's CBB 🤑
A few weeks ago I wrote a piece about a fan video called "Moving Like Tebow," which, for all intents and purposes, seemed like the low point of fan rap videos.
It was terrible in every way.
The rapping was cheesy, it was a knockoff of "Moving Like Bernie," and overall it seemed to be a delusional Tebow fan's five minutes in the spotlight, which was five too many.
To be fair to the "Boiler Up" video, at the very least it seems to be original content from a group called Mirror Men Music, and I give them credit for that.
That being said, that's about all the credit that this video deserved.
When will the sports world realize that cheesy, fake rap videos about their sports team or favorite player is played out?
Sure, the Chicago Bears' "Super Bowl Shuffle" was awesome, but it also featured the players and was one of a kind.
How that evolved throughout the years into fan raps like "Boiler Up," I will never know.
Purdue fans, don't take this too personally, because I'm sure even the most hardcore of you can agree that this rap video sucks.
Enjoy it while you have it, and hope that it will be the catalyst to a great year for the Boilermakers.
For everyone else out there, please stop making these horrendous videos.
