Hasmat MustunDec 10, 2011

Well, it's been a massive transformation for Arsenal football club. Their dismal start to the season seems to be truly behind them as the Gunners push for a top-four spot. Arsenal welcome Everton to the Emirates this afternoon for a crucial game.

A win would overtake Chelsea, who don't play until Monday night. Arsene Wenger's men are within three points of smashing all critics from the start of the season. Mikel Arteta prepares to face his former teammates, whom he knows all about after being their leader.

It is sure going to be an emotional afternoon for him. The Emirates have all likely been filled with emotions this week due to the unveiling of the heroes statues. Thierry Henry, Tony Adams and Herbert Chapman's statues were shown to the crowd outside the stadium.

Henry was speechless and praised his teammates for all his achievements as a prolific striker. The former Arsenal man spoke about Robin Van Persie on the official website.

“I'm just in admiration. What he is doing right now, thank God he is playing for us and doing well. It's nice to see a player improve.

“I'm just saying that what Van Persie is doing now, in terms of not just goals but ratio of goals, apart from Ronaldo and Messi it is ridiculous," said Henry via Arsenal.com.

Henry has long spoken about his love for the game and that he would love to be involved even after his playing days. Manager Arsene Wenger backs him to become a great manager should he choose that path.

Mark Lawrenson was a bit critical of the heroes statues because Dennis Bergkamp was not honoured. Many fans would feel that the Dutch legend deserved something for his amazing performances for the club.

In regard to the future for Arsenal, well reports claim that Arshavin, Chamakh and Squillaci may be sold in January. All rumours linking Arsenal to a centre-back have now been dashed by the manager himself.

Oh, and Gunners fans, remember Carlos Vela? Well, he scored an absolute cracker for Real Sociedad. Check it out!
