TNA: What Happens Now with Impact Wrestling Following Final Resolution?
OK, if I am correct, nothing changed last night during TNA's PPV Final Resolution.
Did we expect anything different?
Everyone retained a title. All the matches, although entertaining, were predictable.
Everything remained status quo.
So what happens now?
Jeff Hardy is the No. 1 contender for the World title. What does that do for James Storm? And is a feud with Kurt Angle really best for business? Can this be a situation where Bobby Roode and AJ Styles can just stop their war for Hardy to jump into the fray?
Doesn't seem logical to me.
Maybe more of the three-way dance will continue among the three of them before someone, probably Roode, comes out victorious.
In a PPV event like this, you hope to see either a title change hands, some big drama take place or the build of characters and feuds as the coming year approaches.
TNA has done a good job of building a small base of Roode, Storm, Styles, Angle and Hardy being the five main guys who will battle back and forth for the world title, but it will go nowhere until we see Storm and Roode really go at it like everyone wants to see.
I appreciate the idea that there is now division within TNA and certain wrestlers are "marked" for certain rivalries. But that is not helping the cause when there are so many great wrestlers who could make an impact (yes, I meant to say that) in the company.
Austin Aries is clearly one of the best right now, and he is a champion, but he could be so much better feuding with AJ Styles or RVD or even Daniels if Aries was a face.
There also needs to be more weight given to the Knockouts Division. Tara needs to feud with Gail Kim. Traci Brooks (Oh, God, YES) needs to wrestle more and show us she is still the best knockout of all time.
Jeff Jarrett needs to be "fired" so he can concentrate on helping the company with projects in Mexico and Asia.
Aries needs to continue to feud with Kid Kash. Samoa Joe needs a new angle since he is being wasted. Maybe a tag team match against Crimson and Matt Morgan.
All of things should come in time. And creative should already know this.
Until then, there was no "Resolution" in anything that happened last night.
