Heisman Watch 2011: Trent Richardson Workout Pics Won't Destroy Heisman Hopes

Looks like Yahoo! Sports investigator extraordinaire Charles Robinson has dug up another potential college football bombshell, though it doesn't figure to go off in time to affect the Heisman Trophy candidacy of Alabama's Trent Richardson.

Robinson found Richardson's name and likeness in use by Muscle Prodigy, a website promoting a workout supplement that claims:

"If you want to get a ripped Muscle Prodigy body with six pack abs like Trent Richardson, make sure that you take a pre-workout supplement and a post-workout supplement."

Nowhere on the site does Richardson endorse the product himself, though according to Robinson, the star running back's mere association with the site, authorized or not, may be enough to land him and 'Bama in hot water:

Whether this apparent impropriety sparks a full-fledged NCAA investigation remains to be seen. For now, it cannot and should not affect Richardson's Heisman candidacy, at least until there's a more concrete establishment of facts. The ballots have already been cast, so this latest development (or non-development, depending on how you look at it) isn't likely to affect whether he wins college football's highest honor or not.

And, frankly, it shouldn't. At this point, there's no evidence to suggest that Richardson chose to associate himself with this site, considering its use of the likenesses of other high-profile athletes:

What's more, Muscle Prodigy has already added a disclaimer to the website confirming that Richardson is not, in fact, affiliated with the company in any way.

So, basically, it's a non-issue and won't/shouldn't bring Richardson down in any way.
