Basketball Wives: Stephen Jackson Calls out Reality TV Stars for Seeking Fame
Leave it to Stephen Jackson, one of the brashest personalities in the NBA today, to "expose" the "Basketball Wives" for what they are.
Little more than intimate acquaintances of professional basketball players seeking to snag a piece of the limelight for their exploits in the bedroom.
Jackson (a.k.a. Stak 5) sat down with The Joy Daily Show to discuss the show, which features Imani Showalter, the "baby mama" of two of Jackson's kids:
Aside from the terrible audio quality, you'll probably notice that Stak 5 refers to the show as "Women That Slept With Guys in the NBA," which might leave some of said women that slept with guys in the NBA to exclaim, "Oh no, he didn't!"
But, oh yes, he did, and we should all thank him for it. Of course, Jackson's revelations about reality TV aren't exactly well-kept secrets on par with the inner machinations of the Illuminati (or even the Killuminati):
""Reality TV sells. Drama sells. Controversy sells. If they’re going to give you $40,000 to go on TV and make an ass out of yourself, people are going to watch it."
"
That being said, the dude deserves some credit for calling it like he sees it—a show full of fame-seekers who, as it turns out, are either too stupid to get paid for what they do or too fixated on getting their 15 minutes to care:
""The only one making money is Shaunie [Shaq's ex-wife]. I give her her props because she’s pimping them all. She hasn’t looked bad in one show and I commend her for that. I commend all those women for getting money, being hungry and grinding. I’ll never deny any woman from getting her money."
"
Let's just hope NBA commissioner doesn't decide to fine Jackson for being honest and forthright about one of the most insufferable shows on television today.
Or, in other words, for "basketball reasons."
