Week 14 Waiver Wire Pickups: 5 Players You Would Be Stupid to Pass Up

Zach KruseDec 9, 2011

Looking for the best waiver wire pickups for Week 14? We have them here. The following five are the top for the first week of postseason play.

Marion Barber, Bears

Running backs at this time of year are usually difficult to find, but Barber could be a guy that an owner with a dry well at the position picks up and starts this week. He should get the lion's share of carries with Matt Forte out, and the Bears don't have much option other than to run the football when Caleb Hanie is struggling as bad as he is.

Antonio Brown, Steelers

Yes, I know, Brown played last night and won't be available for the rest of the games this week. But how can owners continue to overlook this guy? He's still available in over 40 percent of ESPN leagues despite putting up starting numbers. Get Brown while you still can.

Malcolm Floyd, Chargers

It's amazing what the Chargers were able to accomplish last week with a full set of offensive weapons at their disposal. Floyd was a big part of that, and he returned from injury with over 100 yards and a long touchdown. If Philip Rivers is back in form, Floyd could be a huge pickup for the stretch run.

Maurice Morris, Lions

Picking up Morris is dependent on whether or not Kevin Smith can go, but the best guess right now is that Smith will be limited with an ankle injury. Another thing to consider is the fact that Smith has limped his way out of three consecutive games. If he can get the right amount of touches with Smith out, Morris is a safe bet.

Seahawks DEF/ST

The Seahawks defense might be favorite pickup of the week. Defense/special teams is so often overlooked, and rarely do owners take the time to look at the matchups. This week, you couldn't ask for a better one. The Rams will be starting Tom Brandstater, their third-string quarterback, so expect the Seahawks to have another fine day scoring fantasy points on defense.
