WWE SmackDown Preview: The Beat the Clock Challenge Returns

Kyle SchadlerDec 9, 2011

Tonight, WWE SmackDown returns to its usual Friday night time slot and they promise the return of a classic.

Tonight, we’ll see the return of the Beat the Clock Challenge.

Also, we’ll see the continuation of the World Heavyweight Championship feud and the return of a very popular ring announcer.

So, what’s in store for tonight?

Lillian Garcia Returns to the Ring

Lillian Garcia is without a doubt one of the most popular ring announcers in WWE history.

The Decade Diva retired from ring announcing in 2009 and left us with Justin Roberts on Monday Night RAW.

Out of nowhere, WWE announced that Lillian would be returning to WWE full-time and will get back to announcing. There is some disappointment, though, as she won’t be returning to RAW to save us from Roberts.

Lillian will be making her return tonight to SmackDown.

Does she still have it? Will the fans except her back with open arms?

My guess to those two questions is a big Yes!

Mark Henry and Big Show Respond to their Chairs Match

The World’s Slowest Champion and the World’s Largest Athlete have been feuding for the past few months.

Mark Henry injured Big Show earlier in the year, and he returned with a vengeance.

Unfortunately for Big Show, he has only been able to get a little taste of his plan for revenge. Both matches they have had, Big Show has failed to capture the World Heavyweight Championship. During the second match, though, Show injured Henry’s ankle.

Payback’s a bitch as far as Big Show was concerned.

After Henry defeated Daniel Bryan in a steel cage match last week, he now must face Big Show one final time.

WWE announced that their match will be a chairs match and tonight the two combatants will react to the match.

What will Mark Henry and Big Show say about their match stipulation?

The Beat the Clock Challenge

Tonight the Beat the Clock Challenge returns but the reward isn’t the usual world title shot.

Tonight’s challenge will determine the stipulation for the Randy Orton-vs.-Wade Barrett match at the TLC PPV.

Tonight, we’ll see Randy Orton take on Dolph Ziggler, and Wade Barrett will go up against Ezekiel Jackson. The wrestler who can defeat his opponent the fastest will get to choose the stipulation for their match; that is to say both Orton and Barrett are victorious in their matches.

Orton and Barrett have been feuding for about a month or so now, and Barrett has been getting the upper hand on the Viper every step of the way.

The Barrett Barrage has not only defeated Orton but has cost him matches on a few occasions.

Orton isn’t without momentum, though, as he has picked up victories despite Barrett’s attempts at trying to screw him over.

Tonight, they will try their best to defeat their opponents quick so they can not only choose the type of match they’ll have but have the advantage come the PPV.

Who will defeat their opponent the fastest? What stipulation will they choose?

Tonight’s episode of SmackDown should be miles ahead of last week’s holiday episode.

The two matches that are currently scheduled should be good and whatever else WWE has in store for us should help make for a great show.

Tune in tonight to see what happens!
