Josh Koscheck Will Remain on UFC 143 Card Against Mike Pierce
After Carlos Condit was pulled from his fight with Josh Koscheck for an interim title fight with Nick Diaz, Koscheck was left without an opponent for UFC 143.
Well, Koscheck now has his opponent, as he will face off against Mike Pierce at the same event.
Pierce is 13-4 in his career, and is coming off a split decision victory over Paul Bradley at UFC on Fox 1. Prior to that, he dropped a split decision to Johny Hendricks, who will face off against Jon Fitch—another fighter who has beaten Pierce—at UFC 141.
Overall in the UFC, Pierce is 5-2.
He made it clear that he wanted this fight, going as far as to say that Koscheck tried to get out of it.
Koscheck will come into the fight after a first round TKO victory over Matt Hughes at UFC 135. Prior to that, Koscheck lost a unanimous decision to GSP at UFC 124.
This fight will likely take place on the main card.
