Week 14 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Philip Rivers and Shaky QBs Who Will Produce

Josh MartinDec 9, 2011

I'm sure you're all excited for the fantasy football playoffs, though likely slightly less-than-enthused by the dearth of healthy, productive quarterbacks around the NFL.

So, for those of you moving onto the postseason without Aaron Rodgers or Tom Brady, here are a few QBs who, inconsistent as they may be, are good bets to rack up fantasy points in Week 14.

Philip Rivers

Everyone knew Philip Rivers still had good football in him. It just took a beat-up Jaguars defense for him to show it.

Of course, Buffalo's D was never good, ranking last in the league in sacks. So long as the Chargers offensive line does what just about every other group has done against the Bills, Rivers should have plenty of time to find his receivers and make a wide swath of fantasy owners happy in the process.

Carson Palmer

What's not to like about Carson Palmer, other than the fact that he's Carson Palmer?

He deserves plenty of fantasy love this week, at least. He'll spend all day Sunday chucking the ball downfield just to keep his Raiders in the game against Rodgers' Packers.

You'd be wise, though, to cover your eyes whenever Palmer takes the field, lest you convince yourself the ends won't justify the means.

Speaking of which, it's understandable if you'd rather not touch Rex Grossman with a 10-foot pole in your fantasy league.

Then again, the Pats' paltry pass defense can make just about any quarterback look competent, even Dan Orlovsky.

And if Dan Orlovsky can rack up fantasy points against the Pats, then surely Sexy Rexy will be able to do the same. He'll certainly have his chances, so long as the Redskins are busy playing catch-up.
