Chris Paul Trade Rumors: David Stern Blocks CP3 Trade to Los Angeles Lakers
According to several sources including Yahoo! Sports, after several teams complained, commissioner David Stern vetoed the New Orleans-Los Angeles trade, which would have sent superstar PG Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Lakers for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom.
With details pending on Stern's decision to veto this season's hottest trade, why do you think he pulled the plug on the operation?
Maybe there were too many "Dream Teams" coming to fruition, and Stern felt it necessary to put an end to the madness?
Or maybe other teams were complaining that they weren't even given a chance to bargain for a player of CP3's talent level?
Personally, I think Stern had enough of players choosing their destiny by refusing to sign contract extensions, thus putting teams into a predicament they didn't want to be in.
We saw it last year: Carmelo Anthony forced his way to New York in a trade that sent half of the Knicks' roster to Denver. And we saw it before that, when LeBron forced the hand of the Cavaliers, making them sign-and-trade him to Miami for a few draft picks.
Comment below! What's your take on Stern's blocking of what could have been the biggest trade of the year?
