Week 14 Start Em Sit Em: Matt Moore and Others To Start

Chris TrapassoDec 8, 2011

Each week, I attempt to provide fantasy football advice on the guys to start that aren't as obvious as Calvin Johnson, Tom Brady or Ray Rice.

Those guys are in your lineup regardless of just about anything.

Doesn't matter where the game's being played or the specific matchup, and there's a chance you're so sure of them, you might not even watch.

Now that the fantasy postseason is here, things get serious.

These are the three more underrated guys you must start this week.

No questions asked.

Well actually, you can comment if you feel so inclined.

Matt Moore

1 of 3

Moore has been one of the more reliable fantasy quarterbacks in the last month, outside of the elite guys like Rodgers, Brady or Brees.

Starting Moore does come with some risk, because the Eagles do have the talent in their secondary to stymie opposing quarterbacks, they just haven't done it as often as we all expected they would this season.

Seattle's Tarvaris Jackson completed 13 of his 16 attempts for 190 yards and a score last week.

A nice, 200-yard one or two-touchdown performance should be in store for the Dolphins quarterback at home.

Great if you're in a two-signal-caller league.

Percy Harvin

2 of 3

What a perfect picture of Harvin.

The dude can fly.

Yes, the Vikings are pretty bad in all phases of the game and are the latest victim of Tim Tebow, but Harvin has been extremely productive of late.

He had 16 catches for 251 yards and three scores in Minnesota's last two games, and has at least six catches in every game since the team's bye in Week 9.

The Lions are in somewhat of a free fall, and it'll be interesting to see where the secondary's confidence is after facing Aaron Rodgers and Drew Brees in consecutive weeks.

Christian Ponder will be looking for Harvin often in a game that certainly has the potential to be a shootout.

Start him.

Roy Helu

3 of 3

Helu went from a waiver-wire add to a must-start fantasy guy in about two weeks.

Shows what could have happened earlier in the season if Mike Shanahan would have been willing to simply stick with one feature back

Thanks again, Mike.

Helu faces an improving Patriots defense that's more infamous for their atrocious pass defense than anything else, but Helu is fresh off two straight 100-yard, one-touchdown rushing performances against two solid run defenses (Seahawks, Jets).

The reason he's a must-start is his versatility.

Rex Grossman isn't exactly slinging the ball all over the field like Aaron Rodgers, and Helu is frequently featured on checkdowns and in the screen game.
