Justin Blackmon Declares for 2012 NFL Draft: 3 Teams That Should Trade Up
The junior wide receiver out of Oklahoma State is the top wide receiver in the draft, and he will likely be taken within the first three to five picks.
So, which teams should trade up to get him?
Tennessee Titans
The Tennessee Titans will be picking somewhere in the middle of the first round. The team has done a good job selecting players at most of the key positions.
The one position the Titans need help in is at wide receiver.
Jake Locker is the quarterback of the future for the Titans, and he could use an athletic, fast receiver to stretch the field. Blackmon is just the man.
Denver Broncos
Tim Tebow has Eric Decker, but he needs another receiver.
Blackmon is a big, physical receiver who would fit well in an offense that also likes to run the ball.
He would keep the defense honest, too, which would allow the Broncos to keep their opponents off-balance between the run and the pass as Tebow grows within the offense.
New England Patriots
If any team has the picks to pull a deal off, it's the Patriots. The Patriots own two first-round picks this year, and they could make a play for Blackmon.
Imagine an offense with Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski and Justin Blackmon.
That's a scary proposition for the rest of the NFL.
