Buccaneers vs. Jaguars: TV Schedule, Live Stream, Radio, Game Time and More

Richard LangfordDec 7, 2011

The Buccaneers and Jaguars are set for a Florida showdown on Sunday. There is little more on the line than that in this game.

Both of these teams have underperformed this season, and are out of the playoff race.

This will be about players and coaches fighting to keep their job and finding something positive to build on for next season.

Betting Line: Pick 'em (according to Football Locks)

Fantasy Start 'Em, Sit' Em

Sart 'Em: Jaguars' RB Maurice Jones-Drew

MJD is as solid and consistent a fantasy player as you will find. Even on this terrible Jaguars offense he is finding ways to produce.

This week MJD should find success fairly easily. The Bucs are 29th in rushing yards allowed this season.

Sit 'Em: Buccaneers' RB LeGarrette Blount

Blount is the exact opposite of MJD, in that he is anything but consistent. He was great in Weeks 11 and 12, and then was awful last week with just 19 yards on 11 carries.

Combine that pathetic performance, with his dealing with questions of an alleged assault this week, and a Jags defense that is 11th in yards allowed per rush, and you have a back that needs to sit.

Buccaneers Player To Watch:

After a fantastic second season, Freeman has struggled mightily. He has a rating of just 74.6 and has thrown 12 touchdowns to 16 interceptions.

People keep waiting for Freeman to turn the corner and it's just not happening. Will this be the week?

Jaguars Player To Watch: QB Blaine Gabbert

Gabbert is having a harsh rookie season, and he is not getting any better. His QB rating for the season is just 64.5.

He needs to start making strides. You can already hears whispers of "bust" bubbling up from the masses.

Key Matchup: Buccaneers' Rush Defense vs. Maurice Jones-Drew

The key to stopping the Jaguars' offense is limiting Maurice Jones-Drew. This is not something the Buccaneers are in a position to do.

As it was mentioned above, the Bucs are just 29th in rushing yards allowed. If they allow MJD to get easy yards, they are in for a long day.

On the Hot Seat: Buccaneers' coach Raheem Morris

At 4-8, the Bucs have been one of the season's big disappointments. They were expected to contend for a playoff spot. Instead, they are one of the league's worst teams.

That is never good news for a coach. If Morris values his job, he better find a way to get this team to finish strong.

Prediction: Buccaneers 24, Jaguars 13

The Jaguars looked completely lost last week in their first game since the sudden dismissal of coach Jack Del Rio.

In a game you'd expect the players to give everything they had for a new coach they came out flat. This does not bode well for the rest of the season.
