Week 14 Fantasy Football Projections: Predicting the Top WR Performances

Chris TrapassoDec 7, 2011

Man, the pressure is really on the fantasy football advice givers out there, like myself, with the playoffs upon us.

I can handle it.

Without any hesitance, here are the wide receivers I predict will have the best performances in Week 14.

(I'm keeping Calvin Johnson and Wes Welker off this list, although Megatron could have a huge day against the Vikings on Sunday.)

Victor Cruz

Both Cruz and Hakeem Nicks should be in for big outings against the Cowboys in Dallas, but I've got Cruz ahead of Nicks simply because of what the former UMass standout has done over the last four games.

His worst game over that span came a month ago, when he caught six passes for 84 yards in a loss against the 49ers.

Because Nick poses a threat due to his size, it's likely the Cowboys will still roll extra coverage his way, leaving Cruz alone to operate against one-on-one coverage underneath and on the occasional deep ball.

You better believe New York will take their shots on Sunday.

Vincent Jackson

Jackson faces a shaky Bills secondary this weekend, and Buffalo enters the game with the least amount of sacks in the NFL (17).

Philip Rivers should have time to throw the ball, which makes both he and Jackson the extremely viable fantasy options we're used to them being.

Drayton Florence is a physical corner, but he has struggled this season against bigger wideouts in 2011.

Expect a lot of targets for Jackson and a monster game.

The Eagles secondary isn't that good, right?

They've allowed four 100-yard receiving games in the last four weeks.

The Dolphins have improved offensively over the last month or so.

Marshall is too much for any of Philadelphia's cornerbacks to handle and should be utilized underneath after he beats press coverage, especially in the red zone.

My dark horse pick.
