Two of the better offenses in the NFC face off in Carolina this week, as the Atlanta Falcons (7-5) takes on the Carolina Panthers (4-8).
The last time these teams battled on the football field, the Falcons destroyed the Panthers 31-17 in Atlanta. The Falcons shut down Panthers quarterback Cam Newton as they intercepted the potential Rookie of the Year three times.
Will Newton suffer the same fate this week, or can he rebound after a bad game?

Betting Line: According to Bodog, The Falcons are a three point favorite. You should take the Falcons to cover. They will cover this point spread as the Falcons will shut down the Panthers offense in this game like they did in the first meeting this year.
Betting Over/Under: According to Bodog, the over/under is 48. Take the under as the Falcons will shut down the Panthers offense in this game, which will make this overall point total low. The Falcons will put up around 28 points, which will be enough to hold off Carolina in this game.

Fantasy Big Players:
Atlanta Falcons QB Matt Ryan: The Panthers defense have given up an alarming amount of points this year (324 total) to opposing offenses. In their first meeting, Ryan had an okay game of 163 yards and a touchdown. This week, you can expect the Falcons quarterback to improve those numbers with 235 yards passing and two touchdowns.
Atlanta Falcons RB Michael Turner: The Panthers rushing defense ranks near the bottom of the NFL at No. 27. In their last meeting, he went off with a 127-yard, two touchdown performance. You can expect Turner to have another huge day this week.
Carolina Panthers, QB Cam Newton: Against the Falcons in their first game, Newton threw for 237 yards and had a rushing touchdown. He has had a lot of time inbetween their last meeting to correct what he did wrong. He should find the end zone more than once this week, with a passing and rushing touchdown.
Key to Atlanta win:
Give Ryan time to find his receivers. This year the Falcons drafted Julio Jones from the University of Alabama. He has given them a tremendous year as the second option to Roddy White.
Get Turner going in the running game. The Falcons dominated their first game because of Turner’s huge day. If he can rush for another 130 plus yards, it will result in another big Falcons win.
Do not let Newton use his rushing game to his advantage. The Falcons did a great job taking away his rushing option which resulted in three interceptions.
Key to Carolina win:
The Panthers have to get Newton time to throw. In their first meeting the Falcons sacked Newton twice, which forced him to throw the ball early. If the Panthers can give Newton more time, he will have a better day than in Week 6.
Make holes for their running game. This Panthers team is most successful when they can dominate the offensive line. They did rush for 142 yards in their first meeting, however it was split between three players.
They have to stop the Falcons running game. Turner ripped them to pieces in Week 6 and will do it again if the Panthers do not plug those running lanes.
Prediction: The Panthers are an improved team from their first game back in October. Newton is more of a complete quarterback, while the defense has helped get them two straight wins.
However, the Atlanta running game is a lot better than Indianapolis and Tampa Bay, and it will be the deciding factor in this game. Carolina keeps it close but cannot do enough to stay with Atlanta.
